After being in Mrs. Crose’s class I have learned many things in her class that may help me become better in college. I have learned things like the basic sentence parts like verbs, subjects, etc.. I have also how to do a well done midterm paper that I will definitely benefit due to the fact that I will be doing a lot of papers in college that requires the knowledge of how to write one and also some experience in knowing how to do it. By knowing how to do a well written paper I will be able to succeed in doing great in them and getting high grades on them which will easily help boost my grades up. I think my favorite article that I have read this semester is probably the article about the anti-rape nail polish by Jessica Valenti. This article was about how how a nail polish was invented to detect if there was any drink that was drugged. The article said that there should be a way to stop rape from all together instead of finding ways to reduce it. When I first read this I was surprised there was such thing as a nail polish that detects drinks that have been drugged and I thought it was a great invention to help reduce rape. Jessica seemed to not be satisfied at all with this invention and said that rape should be stopped and not just reduced. I thought that was a ridiculous thing to say that would be impossible in my opinion. When a person who has nothing to lose, wants to rape someone, that person will do it since they do not care about the consequences. Other than this very interesting article I do not think I liked the other articles since they were not very interesting but I could be wrong.
